Has someone stepped on your blue suede shoes? Or are they just looking worn from rocking around the clock?
Here are a few tips and tricks of how you can freshen your suede shoes, which may be blue, with items you should have lying around the house.
What you need:
- Steam Iron / Normal Iron
- Garment Brush / Old Toothbrush
If you have a steam iron, steam the shoes to help restore the nap, and then brush the suede gently with a garment brush or old toothbrush to get the dirt out of it. Don’t scrub at the suede, as that will damage it. When brushing the suede, try to brush it all in the same direction to get an even colour all over.
If you don’t have a steam iron, then a normal iron is sufficient. Just fill it up with water and press the steam button alot, when you are doing this make sure you don’t touch the suede with the iron.
If there are any stains, scuffs or dirt left in the suede, you can remove it using an eraser. The gum type erasers would work best, but just any eraser you have at home will suffice. Make sure the suede is dry before you do this, and just rub gently where the stains and dirt are in the suede. Once again don’t scrub at the suede as this will make it lose its colour or damage it.
